they all should have been wiped out 3 or 4 games ago. I'm surprised that my character even exists. The responsibility for the defense of THE ENTIRE JUMPGATE NETWORK falls solely, and squarely, on the shoulders of the one single pilot because every developed nation in the network is literally to inept to mount ANY sort of effective defense? All of their scientist, engineers and military officials are just there for show? They don't know how to properly utilize their economies or industries? They get outclassed by any competent captain with even mid range weaponry. Originally posted by Pandorian:Although the Xenon may have powerful weapons, they are extremely short range fighters. If the player hasn't been helping provide ore to refined metals or transporting refined metals to hull parts then hull parts to wharfs/shipyards, it's very likely for the I to punch through a very under-supplied defense fleet. A constant swarm of ships will eventually take them down but after the first few hours of gameplay(when I's generally start showing up) there's usually been battles occurring. Most I's end up finally dying when they run into the heavily defended stations such as Wharfs or Shipyards. They try to get in a slug fest and end up losing due to the I's superior shield regen. The issue with I's and the NPC fleets are the NPC fleets don't know how to do advanced tactics like disabling surface points or kiting. The I doesn't have the benefit of short bursts of speed and still falls victim to the same strategy but in the I's case you can easily Kite them as they are slow moving. Targeting the L turrets with your guns easily neuters them. K's have to rely on on short bursts of speed to jump on top of capital ships and eliminate them. Although the Xenon may have powerful weapons, they are extremely short range fighters.
